Though it seemed to be a little bit too late in the year, our college planning services department has decided to offer a seminar to students on how to reduce college expenses.  It is going to take place just after our exams our finished and before we all go home for Christmas.

I do think that it is a great idea as most of us are out for the first time away from home, and we really have no good concept of what kind of spending habits we need to make it through these formative (and expensive) years of our lives.  What we do now as students will impact us as we go through life, and I for one would like to finish college with as little debt as possible.

So, I think that I will attend the event and hopefully walk away with some wisdom.  I know it was a big shock for me when I found out how much is college and I realized that I don’t quite have enough money to make it through debt free.  Maybe they will have some ideas on how to stretch my money and what little savings that I have so that I don’t end up laden with debt by the time I am done school.

Well, I guess I will just have to wait and see what the seminar offers.  For right now though, I should get back to studying for my exam tomorrow – just two more left and I am done for the term.  Thank goodness.
