For an introductory law class I’m taking at a local community college we had to write a paper on one aspect of law enforcement that we had an interest in.  Almost everyone wrote about either the police or lawyers, but I wanted to write my paper on something a bit different, so I chose to write about being a bail bond agent. 

At first I thought that maybe I had gotten in over my head and I wouldn’t be able to find enough information for my project, but I was wrong.  The internet was full of useful resources on the bail bonds business.   I decided that instead of doing a simple information piece I would compare and contrast the bail bonds business in two different states.  After some preliminary research I decided to compare Indiana bail bonds companies with Michigan bail bonds companies.  I looked at rates, availability and how many companies were in each state among other things.  I even phoned a few agencies to see how their customer service was.  I was pretty proud of myself and it turned out to be a very interesting and informative project.

My teacher was also impressed and gave me top notch marks for the paper.
