I was wondering if anyone knew if there were any decent animation programs being offered on line through long distance education.  I have applied to a web design school, but I am also most thinking that I would rather take the course at home, on my own time if possible.

The design school I applied for isn’t in the same town that I live in, so if I am accepted, I would have to quite my job and move.  I’ve lived where I am for about ten years and I’m not sure if I would be willing to leave. It would be a bit of a hassle and I would need to try to find housing that I could afford and a part time job so I would have some living money.

I was thinking that by taking the course through distance education not only would I be able to continue living where I am, but I could keep my job while I studied. Since there would really be no actual classes for me to go to, I could almost maintain my full time status at work and study in the evenings and on my days off.

I just want to make sure that if I went that route I would be getting the same level of education as actually attending a brick and mortar school. Does anyone know if on line courses are just as good as actually attending the school?
