5 Bathroom Accessories to Turn Your Bath into a Home Spa

Many women get professional spa treatments in order to relax or make themselves feel healtheir.  Want to be able to get the same relaxing or invigorating experience at home?  Here are five bathroom accessories and other features you need to create your own home spa.

Experience is always based on your environment, which is why you won’t find a spa playing rap music or using extremely bright lights.  If you want to get a similar experience in your own home, you will need to make your bathroom attractive and relaxing.  These things will all help you create a home spa by fostering the correct type of environment.

  1. A bathroom shower with a massaging shower head.  Massaging shower heads are fantastic because they enable you to achieve a similar degree of relaxation on days when you don’t have time for the hot bath and wine.  Just set the shower head to your favorite setting and let the hot water soothe your stressed body.
  2. Soft lighting.  It’s hard to relax when you have bright lights shining down on you.  Whether it’s a fixture on a separate switch, a pretty lamp, or candles, make sure you have some form of soft lighting to use when you are trying to relax.
  3. Aromatherapy.  You just can’t have a spa-like experience without a rich, relaxing perfume in the air.  There are plenty of ways to add aromatherapy to your home spa experience: bubble bath, bath oils, masks, body washes, hair products, lotion, body oils, and candles all come in a variety of scents.  Be sure to choose your scents for their healing properties: For instance, some scents tend to relax you, whereas others will leave you feeling invigorated and fresh.
  4. Super-soft towels and a luxurious robe.  A rough towel can quickly ruin any home spa experience — the last thing you want to feel when you have finally relaxed is coarse, stiff terrycloth!  Instead, invest in a couple sets of large, super-soft bath towels and washcloths, and a luxurious robe to wear at the end of your "treatment."
  5. Any other accessories you can think of that will help you find balance, physically or mentally.  This might include pretty candleholders, attractive potted plants, or even bathroom scales to help you keep your physical well-being in mind.

It’s not hard to set up an attractive, relaxing spa experience in your own home.  I hope these suggestions have given you some ideas for creating your own home spa!
