Designing a Centerpiece for Your Wedding

Having a great centerpiece can complete the décor at your wedding reception. With so many ideas for wedding centerpieces, where do you start? Let’s examine a few of the important things that go along with designing the right centerpiece.

Color
The right color choice for your centerpiece is important. Dramatic centerpieces that have pops of color are an easy way to draw attention. Additionally, subtle colors can help make the décor appear more natural for a country chic wedding. Make sure you choose the right color to fit in with the other décor as well – equally as important.

Material
What will your centerpiece be made of? From rock and natural elements like ostrich feathers, to rhinestones and candles – the possibilities are endless. Choose materials that are interesting and will add appeal to the table. Don’t look for smelly candles or flowers with pungent fragrances. If your guests are eating at the tables these items can detract from the taste of the food.

Height
Having varying heights in your centerpiece is a great way to add visual appeal. Try using pillars and candles to introduce heights. Adding floral arrangements and stacking items on decorative boxes can also add visual height as well.
