When you are in the market for a flow meter, you will need to ask yourself some questions.  The first of which is of course what will I be using my flow meter to measure.  I will also need to determine the size of the flow controller that I will need to get as well as what type of ultrasonic flow meter will best fit my needs.  You will need to determine if the product that you want to put in place will be permanent. Will a handheld model be able to fit the needs that you have from the device.  Remember to do your homework and know what it is that you will be getting into.  If it is something that will need constant monitoring then common sense would suggest acquiring a permanent model to fit your needs.  If you are going to be going around the shop floor and conducting random checks then a handheld model will be the best option will fit your needs. 

Look at all of your options and consider them carefully.  Think about everything that you want to get out of the device that you purchase or install and go with what will work best when it comes to your monitoring needs.
