My Science Teacher’s Toupee
By KV in Health | 0 comments
In eighth grade I had a very dorky science teacher with a toupee. I didn’t know what that meant until the other kids told me, actually, but I remember we had a lot of good laughs about it.
The thing that was so bad about this teacher’s toupee was that he hadn’t matched his hair color correctly — hadn’t even come close, actually. His toupee was a silky straight platinum blond, and just covered the top of his head and down around his ears. Underneath he had brown, rather wiry hair. It was obvious that he was trying to cover up the fact that he was balding, but it was also very obvious that he was having a identity crisis about how old he was, what color hair he had, and the fact that the 80s were over.
Even though hair replacement surgery was not as good back then, this teacher probably would have had more luck with that than with his crazy toupee. I wonder if he ever decided to go through with it. The hair restoration cost isn’t actually that bad, particularly when you’re a teacher and you consider that it means you’ll no longer have a bunch of silly middle school kids making fun of you behind your back!
