Our Infertility Specialist Was Great

When my husband and I realized that we would need the help of an infertility specialist, we breathed a sigh of relief to know that there was something that we could do medically to have our own baby. We had no problems with adopting, but we wanted to exhaust all the possibilities within our financial means to have our own child first. The specialist we saw was fantastic. He put me on ovulation drugs as a starter, saying that it was the best course of action at first in cases of infertility.

He said that the worst case would be having to go through in vitro fertilization, and while that was acceptable to us, we are so glad that we got pregnant before we had to go through that expensive process. The embryo implantation process can result in more than one live birth, and we did not want to run that risk. While more can be better, we never wanted to have more than two kids because of our position on the world’s overpopulation problems, so we’re just happy we got pregnant with a singleton by using the drugs that helped me ovulate just one egg. We opted for the injectable drugs instead of the oral ones to reduce the risk of ovulating more than one egg at a time.
