The Worst Parts of Getting Older

I think the worst parts of getting older must be the way your body parts stop working properly anymore.
For instance, my grandfather is living to an age many people can only dream of — he turns 96 later this month. But it’s taking his toll. His memory sucks, he’s unsteady on his feet, and he gets heartburn like you wouldn’t believe.
Luckily my grandpa is loaded, and while that won’t buy him a body that works right, it does buy top quality in home care. He has round-the-clock care from caregivers with home care provider training. Their training means that they also know a lot about nutrition for an older adult, so they’ve altered his diet to try to treat his heartburn naturally. They also know a lot about infection control home care, so if and when my grandpa ever actually gets sick (knock on wood), he should be in good hands.
I guess the moral of the story is that if you have to get old — which most of us do — make sure you have lots of money, so at the very least you can be cared for in your own home when the time comes!
