Make Your Home a Love Nest
By KV in Real Estate | 4 comments
You’ve no doubt heard the saying, “Home is where the heart is.” Well, that means more than just being happy in your home — it also means creating an environment where the heart can thrive.
Here are a few things you can do to make your home a love nest.
- A romantic bedroom. If you want to be spending a lot of time in the bedroom with your loved one, make it a room worth spending time in! A comfortable bed, decorated with lots of pillows and luxurious bedding, is a good start. Romantic lighting and soft fabrics add a nice touch.
- Table for two. There is nothing so romantic as a little breakfast nook with a table for two. Don’t forget candles, soft lighting, and nice linens.
- …And other things made for two. Believe it or not, you can get 2 person hot tubs. Talk about romantic — your own portable spa, where you can spend plenty of quality — and relaxing — time together!
- A pretty garden, backyard, or porch. My personal favorite is an evening spent basking in the sun’s dying rays, breathing in the garden’s perfume. Or maybe a cup of coffee together on the porch in the morning.
Everyone’s tastes are different, so what seems romantic to me might not be for you. The key is decorating and furnishing your home around things that the two of you can do together!

So true! A home should be the place where you feel most comfortable and most loved. The best part of your advice here is that the idea of creating a love nest doesn’t require construction or a specific size house. Anyone can incorporate these ideas.

I wouldn’t know where to start on this! But, good ideas, really – I need to rethink what is important in my home.

I agree! Especially the part about an inviting bedroom. So many of us crash there each night, we need to work on having these rooms be rooms that we’d like to spend time in rather than just getting our 8 hours.

The hot tubs can be installed inside or out! I think there are pros and cons to both locations. Inside hot tubs are nice because you can use them at any time, and it seems you are more likely to be spontanious. However the outdoor tubs are so great when you can take in the stars.
