Living in a small town definitely has its benefits: quiet, slower pace of life, and friendly people.  But the truth of the matter is that you can’t get everything that you need in a small town and sometimes you just have to take a big trip to the city to find what you are looking for.

So, today I am taking one of those big trips to the city.  You see, there isn’t a marine supply company in town, so I have to go to the big city to get the Mercruiser parts that I need.  I love the store that I will be going to as I can wander around for hours looking at all they have to offer.  It is cheap entertainment for me and it gives me inspiration of what I can put on my Christmas list.

But, my wife has also given me a shopping list of stuff that the family needs, so my stay in the parts store will be short.  I have to be home before ball practice tonight, so I better get going.  It will be nice to have some time alone without the wife and kids, even though it will be only a few hours.  We all need a break once in awhile to stay sane.
