Creating a Collage with the Kids
By multiviews in Society | 0 comments
I usually work weekends, and that has been very frustrating for me since during the summer, my kids are in a summer program during the week. This means that if I want to spend any time with them at all, it has to be during the weekend, so I have been missing out.
But somehow I managed to have the time off today, so I took the opportunity to do something with my children. Instead of picking the activity, I asked them what they wanted to do. After a bit of bickering, they both decided that they wanted to make a collage with the magazines that grandma had brought over.
I don’t know what my mother had been reading, but it seemed that the only kind of magazines that she had left at our home were about western wear fashion and furnishings. So, we were forced to create a collage based on a western theme (though somehow my six year old ended up with cowboys in space).
My kids had a lot of fun cutting out the pictures of western decorations to decorate their sheets and we had a wonderful time. We put our “masterpieces” up on the fridge to show daddy when he gets home.
Though we had a great time, it reminded me how quickly my kids are growing up, and that makes me very sad.
