Have you seen in loving memory tattoos?

Recently, while attending the funeral of a college friend, I notice that some of mutual acquaintances had some rather interesting tattoo designs, some of which I’d never really seen before.
Since I was not very close to most of these folks, I was rather hesitant to approach them, but the intricacy involved with their tattoos simply drew me in. I had to learn more about what they were wearing, where they got them, and whether or not I might be able to get similar tattoo flash and have the same applied to myself.
Surprisingly, after condolences were shared and general conversation started, I was able to respectfully inquire to there “tatts”. The designs that most interested me were described as in loving memory tattoos.
Literally, these were permanent testaments to the memories of loved ones tattooed on my new friends bodies. It had just never occurred to me to consider using the tattoo as a permanent reminder of someone I had lost. While I cared about my friend who had recently passed, probably not enough to have a tribute to him permanently placed on my body.
There was one special someone, however, from long ago in my past that I very much wanted to start looking for a fitting tattoo design to show the world how I felt about them.
