Storing Childhood Memories

When my parents decided to sell my childhood home and move into a small condo, they called to tell me that I had a week to get any of my belongings that I still wanted from the house. Of course I immediately panicked. I had a lot of things from my childhood that I was pretty sure I wanted to keep, but I was sharing a studio apartment with a roommate and had absolutely no room for anything.
My boyfriend suggested that I put my childhood things in storage until I either moved into a larger place or decided what I did and didn’t want to keep. I was concerned with how much that would cost, but after looking into some local Queen Creek storage companies, I found one that wasn’t too far from my place and offered excellent monthly fees.
I rented a self service storage unit and my roommate and boyfriend helped me to move the stuff in. In the process of moving I actually got rid of a lot of things that I realized I didn’t want to hold on to anymore. Everything else fit nicely in the unit with room left over so my boyfriend stored some of his things there, too. I’m looking at it as a first step to us moving in together!
