French Open 2008 Puts Rivalry on Display
By karen in Sports | 0 comments
In 2007, the ranking number 1 and number 2 players played an exhibition game that should have evened the field. Top ranked Roger Federer stood on a half-grass court and took on his rival, the number 2 Rafael Nadal. Nadal played on the side that was half clay.
While this was only an exhibition game, Nadal pulled out a win with a tie-breaker. And both players are eager to do this again this year.
The Federer versus Nadal rivalry has been long fought and if Federer wins the French Open 2008, he can retire with at least one win in all of the Grand Slam tournaments. Number two ranked Nadal would like to keep him from winning so that he can secure his place as the King of Clay. The French Open tennis coverage should show another match between these two.
Either way, the exhibition game and the upcoming French Open tennis tournament are sure to be fun!
