How to Build a Shuffle Board Table

Do you want to build your own shuffleboard table? Here are the basics that you’ll need to cover if you’re going to do that:

  • Gather your materials. You’re going to need wood, nails, hammer, paint, wax and pucks to play with.
  • Research what to look for in a shuffleboard table. If you know what makes a good shuffleboard table then you’ll know how to make yours right. For example, learn about the best woods for your climate and consider that information when buying the wood for your shuffleboard table.
  • Measure and cut your wood. Determine the measurements for your shuffleboard table. Cut the wood for the legs, the frame and the tabletop.
  • Sand down the wood. You want it to be splinter-free before you put it together.
  • Nail it together. Assemble the shuffleboard table using the pieces that you’ve cut.
  • Paint the shuffleboard table top. You need to have a table top with the right scoring info on it. Look at images of other shuffleboard tables online and paint yours to match.
  • Coat the table with wax. This is how you make the shuffleboard table surface smooth enough for the pucks to slide along it like they’re supposed to.

And that’s pretty much it. Let the wax dry and you should be ready to play.
