My best friend spent several years in a row trying to convince me to go on one of the canadian rockies coach tours with her that she went on each year. She said that the bus was the best way to see all of Canada. Being the travel snob that I sometimes am, I always told her that my style of canada tours was more in line with booking a banff vacation package than hopping on a bus.

Then one year, she approached me at just the right time to discuss the issue again. I had just gone through a really heartbreaking break-up and I wanted to get as far away from my life in the city as I could. I also didn’t have a lot of money because I’d spent it moving out of the shared apartment I was in and into my own place. An affordable bus trip across Canada was the ideal solution.

I hate to admit it but it turned out that my friend had been right all of those years. My only experiences with buses in the past had been on public city buses which aren’t nearly as comfortable or exciting as tour buses. I met lots of great people and we saw tons of things that you just don’t see when you fly to a single destination and explore only that area.
