One of my favorite parts about going on vacation is that it means I get to meet new people. Of course, I’m careful about how I meet strangers. I talk to the people seated near me on planes or converse with people working in restaurants. This allows me to meet really interesting people. I usually learn a lot from them.

Most of what I learn from these people has to do with the place that I am visiting. They’ll tell me their favorite places to spend time or the reasons that they like being in the area. This helps me to find out where there are things to do that aren’t only tourist attractions.

Sometimes I learn really unique things about living and working in the area. Like I met a criminal attorney in Tampa while he was working at an Internet cafe. I learned all about the work of a Tampa criminal lawyer such as which crimes are most common there. That’s not something that you’re going to learn from a tour guide!

Of course, I also just learn about the person I’m talking to. I learn about different jobs and different ways of seeing life. These things interest me. That’s why it’s so fun to talk to people when I travel.
